# Respira and Rank Math

With Rank Math active, Respira writes a page's SEO title, description, focus keyword, canonical URL, robots and social titles into Rank Math's own fields, and scores a page against Rank Math's checks before it changes anything.

## What works

- Pages and posts: SEO title, description, focus keyword, canonical URL, Facebook and X (Twitter) titles and descriptions.
- Robots: a value such as "noindex, nofollow" is stored as the list Rank Math reads.
- Categories, tags and other terms get the same fields in Rank Math's term meta.
- respira\_analyze\_rankmath scores a page against Rank Math's checks and returns the field changes to apply.
- Each SEO field is stored as a single text value, the shape Rank Math's editor expects.

## What it does not do

- Rank Math's Redirections module is read, for the loop check and the redirect list, and never written. New redirects go to Redirection or Respira's own list.
- Rank Math's schema builder and site-wide settings are not written; change them in Rank Math.

## The tools involved

`respira_update_page` 

Writes the page's SEO fields through its seo object, on a draft copy of a published page.

`respira_update_post` 

The same for posts.

`respira_update_term` 

SEO fields for a category, tag or other term.

`respira_analyze_seo` 

Reads the page and its SEO fields and reports what to fix.

`respira_check_seo_issues` 

Finds missing or duplicate titles and descriptions across the site.

`respira_analyze_rankmath` 

Scores a page against Rank Math's checks, with ready field changes.

Every write saves a snapshot first, and on a published page the change lands on a draft copy you approve.
