A productive week at Respira
Apparently, this is what a productive week looks like when nobody schedules meetings for you.
Respira shipped a new Safety & Security center, tracked the still-unfinished MCP 2026-07-28 release candidate, brought WordPress Full Site Editing (FSE), now usually called the Site Editor, into Canopy, and collected a healthy pile of bug fixes along the way. The four pieces below cover the useful parts.
There was a bigger update away from the changelog too.
In an earlier newsletter i told you about the very ordinary intention that started Respira: i wanted to upgrade the family car. Not a unicorn milestone. Not a funding round. Just a basic thing my family needed, and something i hoped building a useful product could make possible.
On day 255 since launch, it happened.

You made that possible. Everyone who bought Respira, reported a bug, challenged a decision, recommended it to someone, or kept using it while i was still sanding down the rough edges. Thank you. This one means a lot.

The exact affected WordPress versions, what updating does and does not prove, which compromise indicators deserve investigation, and how Respira 8.1 turns a fleet scan into an approval-gated fix and verification receipt.

2. MCP 2026-07-28 is still a release candidate. What changes for WordPress?

As of 29 July, the final MCP specification has not been published. The release candidate makes stateless connections first-class and adds server discovery. Here is what Respira users need to do now, and what changes after the official TypeScript SDK stabilizes.

3. How to edit your WordPress site from Slack with Viktor

Add your WordPress site or WooCommerce store to Viktor as a custom MCP server and edit it by typing a message in Slack or Microsoft Teams. Step by step, with the exact link to paste, the access levels worth thinking about, and the shared-channel setup for agencies working with clients.

4. Respira 8.0 Canopy brings Full Site Editing to AI assistants

Canopy adds native WordPress Full Site Editing, now usually called the Site Editor, alongside sixteen page builders: block templates, synced patterns, navigation and design tokens. It also fixes two bugs found by auditing the safety layer itself.

One last founder-shaped request
Respira is still one person. Time spent performing marketing is time i am not fixing the bug you found or building the thing you need next. Real words from people doing real work with Respira are the part of marketing i cannot manufacture. Honestly, they are more useful than anything i could write about myself.
If Respira saved you hours or made you go “wow,” leave an honest review on G2. If you are on a paid plan, upload a screenshot from your dashboard and i will add 1 more site to your plan for as long as you subscribe. You get more room to use Respira; i get to stay heads-down building it.
