How to create a free WooCommerce Google Shopping feed

Most WooCommerce Google Shopping feed plugins charge a monthly fee to generate one XML file. You do not need to pay for that. Respira ARC is a free plugin that builds a spec-correct Google Shopping feed, serves it as a static file from your own server, and keeps it fresh. Here is the whole setup.

Step 1: install Respira ARC

Install Respira ARC from WordPress.org. It is free, needs no account, and runs entirely on your server. On activation it reads your catalog and starts building feeds in the background.

Step 2: copy the Google Shopping feed URL

ARC produces a Google Shopping XML feed among six formats. Variations export as proper variant rows with item_group_id, sale prices carry their date windows, and identifiers follow Google's rules. Copy the feed URL from the ARC settings page.

Step 3: add it to Google Merchant Center

In Google Merchant Center, add a product source as a scheduled fetch and paste the feed URL. Google refetches the file on the schedule you set, so your feed stays current without any manual export. The same file is accepted by Bing as well.

Step 4: fix the products Google would reject

A feed only helps if the products pass review. ARC scores your catalog against the Google Shopping spec and lists the exact products missing an image, a real description, a brand, a GTIN, or a category mapping. Fix those and fewer rows get disapproved.

One feed, more than Google

Because ARC builds six formats from the same catalog, the work you do here also makes your store readable to AI shopping assistants. There is an OpenAI JSONL feed for ChatGPT, plus Meta, Pinterest and TikTok formats, and a store llms.txt. More on that in how to safely use AI to manage WooCommerce and get found in ChatGPT.
